Hello everyone, introduce me to an Indonesian designer who when I want to give my opinion and my colleague to the ikea mobile apps in Indonesia, sorry if there is a mistake, this is just a conclusion that I made by the results of research, this is a case study article on the IKEA mobile apps that I redesigned and provided input on issues that also contained my creative ideas. Immediately, we discuss about this article :

Overview

Problems faced by users of this application, especially in parents who do not want to be complicated during the purchase process, and also the millennial or gen z who always want to be instant. Therefore I want to provide a more user friendly interface so that all ages who want to buy a product can be more comfortable lingering in the application to see the items they want to buy.

Because there are many competitors in this business, I want to provide ideas or solutions in mobile digital media, so that users remain loyal to IKEA and don’t move to other stores just because purchasing via mobile is not very user friendly.

User Persona

Going further through the research, I identified 2 personas which have different needs and different goals. This data will be useful to improve the user experience for each one of them.

The aim would be/has been to create the best itinerary and improve the functionalities to provide the best possible experience for each persona.

Biodata application user data to their needs

User Review

From here I can see the problems that exist in this application by looking at the results of comments given by users and satisfaction warnings (star rating) and I can take some of the main problems that all these users have.

  1. Application bug
  2. Limitations see the product
  3. The vast difference between a website and a mobile interface
  4. Difficulty looking for products by category

Those are some problems that are owned by users, I will help to fix this problem with my idea as a solution.

User Interview

After I asked my colleague to get a conclusion that I could draw to add ideas and avoid solutions to problems, through chat media I wondered to get feedback from their concerns as well as IKEA user applications :

  1. The average price is more expensive compared to the shop next door
  2. The initial appearance (Home) that made me confused by many advertisements
  3. UI is behind the trend

With the results sent by my colleague, I will give an interesting thing after this. Keep your distance and keep healthy

Pain Points

After finishing the discussion, finally get an answer to the problem :

  1. The interface is more user friendly and follows the development of trends that can be used and understood by all generations
  2. More complete product information description when viewing a product for users to consider the product you want to buy
  3. Users want to find the desired keywords

I didn’t get much from the discussion, that’s all I got and I will develop with my ideas

Let’s Start Problem solving

Starting from the pain point, I tried to find solutions to solve them and introduce new features overall to improve the user experience, and this is the design process :

Sketch

I started by sketching in a sketchbook by pouring out ideas that I could, starting with just scribbles to get certainty of placement

Wireframe

Home Page

I have provided many changes that can be introduced on this Home page, in this case I can provide solutions or problem solving at the first pain point, be user friendly and follow trends,

Looks looks fresh and good where when you first open the application the user is immediately shown their best product, no longer an advertisement or promotion which only makes the user bought in searching for the product they want to buy

I moved the search feature located on the Home indicator and moved it to focus below the Navigation Bar next to Camfind

I opened all the best products at the beginning of this application

I changed the position of the name button on the Home indicator to the icon next to when active

Users want to find the desired keyword ?

No need to be confused or have trouble finding keywords because I have changed the interface on this homepage to be very relevant

Detail product information

Display all information about the product being viewed so that users can be sure to buy the product

I added a BUY IT button for users to directly buy and then enter the administration process

I also added a shopping cart button icon to be directly added to the shopping cart or store page, with a blue indicator after pressing

Shop Page

In this store page I have changed a lot, maybe almost all of me have changed this page in such a way as to make it comfortable by the user just sliding it all will see two different pages on this store page

I changed the name of the shopping basket to a store that had a broad meaning, so in the shop page that contained a shopping basket and checked, it was very easy to use to see the product you wanted to buy and had bought,

The selected product you want to buy provides a blue indicator or marker on the right end of the selected object,

If you want to delete or select a product easily by going left, I’ve made a prototype for it,

Check out

This is a page for check out to go to this page just swipe to the left or tap on the name check out, see all products have finished the transaction, tap dot bar at the right end of the product object showing details of the transaction carried out

Maps Page

Here I change the overall interface and layout, giving the right position and good for the user’s benefit

I add the closest location to learn or borrow directly from the nearest store from the current distance

I changed the layout and added information that made it good for the user to see and have a broad map view

I add a search feature to look for other stores that users might visit when near the destination location

Profile Page

On this profile page I change everything by replacing it like the following interface which aims at the user just wanting to see correctly and quickly that all of his personal data is correct so that no input data errors occur during the purchase process and the product purchased is not strayed to others

many online shops that do not highlight the user’s personal data and users are not diligent when filling in their personal data and do not see it again if you want to buy a product so that many products are lost or do not reach the buyer or user

Prototype

I built a prototype which shows the entire project, showing each one of the mockups faced before.

“Sorry there is a mistake in choosing a frame or putting a logo so that the appearance of this prototype is not satisfied, please understand and be forgiven”

Enjoy!

Conclusion

Due to time constraints, the research and consequents assumptions are based on my personal experience and a small amount of data.

Deep analysis and additional testing needs to be conducted in order to refine and validate the solution.
